Seasonal Salal Gin reveals a taste of Haida Gwaii

Odd Society Spirits set to release annual salal gin in time for fall and winter festivities

We have been harvesting and macerating British Columbia-grown salal berries for the past five years in order to create a West Coast take on the classic British liqueur, sloe gin. Towards the end of every summer, berries are handpicked along coastal B.C., and then steeped in our Wallflower Gin. This year, over 90 per cent of the berries came from remote Haida Gwaii, imparting the 2019 release with wild characteristics that reflect its origin. On Thursday, Oct. 10, we will release our biggest batch of Salal Gin to date.
